Ofakim Seminary leads processes and projects beyond regular studies and obligations.
During both regular and special times, the seminary holds initiatives and various events for the benefit of its students and graduates.
The historic graduates’ conference held at the Jerusalem International Convention Center
In honor of the seminary’s 40th anniversary, a unique and exciting conference was held at the Jerusalem International Convention Center.
The graduates came from all over Israel and filled the entire hall with an atmosphere of warmth and unity.
Rav Yehuda Aryeh Cohen spoke emotionally and even made a Shechecheyanu on a new fruit.
In honor of the occasion. Thousands of women – our dear graduates – participated in an exciting and uplifting program with singing and reliving the inspiration they have received from Ofakim Seminary over the years.
Every participant testified to the fact that this was an unforgettable and historic event!
Due to the Ofakim Seminary’s location in southern Israel, we could not continue our regular activities under fire and with the chaos of the Swords of Iron War.
Wishing to continue our routine as much as possible, during a situation of war, we made a complex move to two sites, in Bnei Brak and Jerusalem.
As part of the logistic efforts in moving to the center of the country, we rented dormitories and classrooms, and arranged buses to bring the staff from one place to another. Thus with difficult conditions, with siyata d’Shmaya, we continued our activities even in conditions of war.
With the outbreak of war in southern Israel, the Ofakim Seminary found itself coping with a great lack of protected spaces accessible within the time required according to the Home Front Command guidelines.
After our wanderings to central Israel, when the seminary returned to its home in the south, an urgent need arose to find suitable solutions for a protected space.
At the principal’s initiative and with the help of donations from friends and graduates of the seminary, the idea was realized, and at a cost of NIS 600,000, the dining room was made into a protected space for the benefit of our dear students.
An internal conference of the seminary’s rabbis was held especially for our graduates, at which they inspired the graduates and gave them blessings for the new year.
The graduates were sent greetings in their handwriting, and a summary of the special screening.
